羽衣まつりと薪技能（たきぎのう）
羽衣まつり当日、十月六日午後一時半、三保羽衣の松の前に設けられた特設能舞台に、清水第五中学校の三年生およそ百人が並びました。地元の中学生による子供能楽は、羽衣伝説を次の世代へ受け継ぐ大切な取り組みです。
子供たちの舞台に続いて、エレーヌ・ジュグラリス夫人の顕彰式が行われました。在日フランス大使館の文化参事官、ベルトラン・ポールさんは、日本の文芸や芸術精神に親しんだ多くのフランス人が、演劇オペラともいえる能に魅了されてきたことに触れました。その一人として、作家で元駐日フランス大使のポール・クローデル、そしてエレーヌ・ジュグラリス夫人の名が挙げられました。
やがて三保の松原に夕暮れが訪れる頃、満席の会場には篝火が灯されます。打ち寄せる波の音と、薪のはぜる音が響く中、三保羽衣薪能の舞台は静かに始まります。羽衣伝説、地域の子どもたちの学び、そしてエレーヌ夫人の思いが重なり、この祭りは三保の文化を今に伝える場となっています。
The Hagoromo Festival and Takigi Noh
On the day of the Hagoromo Festival, October 6 at 1:30 p.m., around one hundred third-year students from Shimizu Dai-Go Junior High School assembled on a special Noh stage set up in front of the Hagoromo Pine at Miho. The children’s Noh performance by local students is an important effort to pass the Hagoromo legend on to the next generation.
Following the students’ performance, a ceremony was held in honor of Madame Hélène Juglaris. Bertrand Paul, Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of France in Japan, spoke about how many French people who appreciated Japanese literature and artistic culture had been drawn to Noh, which he described as a form of theatrical opera. Among them, he mentioned the writer and former French ambassador to Japan, Paul Claudel, as well as Madame Hélène Juglaris.
As evening gradually descended over Miho no Matsubara, torches were lit around the full audience seating area. Accompanied by the sound of waves reaching the shore and the crackling of the firewood, the performance of Miho Hagoromo Takigi Noh quietly began. Through the Hagoromo legend, the learning of local children, and the memory of Madame Hélène, the festival continues to preserve and share the culture of Miho today.
