第六話 清見寺と清見ヶ関 ７．清見寺を後にして
清見寺を後にして
清見寺は、街道を取り締まる清見関の守りとして、また外交使節を迎える場として、さらに人々が安らぐ寺として、長い歴史の中でさまざまな役割を担ってきました。平成の時代になっても、その境内には歴史と文化が静かに受け継がれています。
清見寺へは、JR興津駅から徒歩およそ十五分です。古代の関所、朝鮮通信使、咸臨丸、庭園や血天井など、時代ごとの記憶をたどりながら歩くことができます。
清見寺を後にして周辺を少し散策した後は、昼食に清水の「河岸の市」方面へ向かいました。今回は、「河岸の市」の隣にできた「まぐろ館」を訪ねました。「河岸の市」は多くの人でにぎわっていましたが、「まぐろ館」は比較的ゆったりしていたとのことです。
Leaving Seikenji Temple
Seikenji Temple has served many roles throughout its long history: as a temple established to guard Kiyomigaseki, as a place that welcomed diplomatic envoys, and as a temple where people could find peace and rest. Even in the Heisei era, its grounds continue to preserve and quietly convey layers of history and culture.
Seikenji Temple is located about a fifteen-minute walk from JR Okitsu Station. Walking through the grounds allows visitors to trace memories from different periods, including the ancient checkpoint, the Korean envoys, the Kanrin Maru, the garden, and the Blood Ceiling.
After leaving Seikenji Temple and taking a short walk around the surrounding area, it was time for lunch, and the route continued toward “Kashi no Ichi” in Shimizu. On this visit, the newly opened “Maguro-kan,” located next to “Kashi no Ichi,” was chosen. While “Kashi no Ichi” was crowded with visitors, “Maguro-kan” was said to be comparatively less busy.
